Using One-Year and 90-Day PowerSheets Together

Using One-Year and 90-Day PowerSheets Together

by: Emily Thomas

As we chatted about last week, most Cultivators will choose either One-Year or 90-Day PowerSheets® to help them uncover, set, and live out their goals in 2023. They are both fantastic options, and depending on what matters most to you about goal planning, either could be a great fit!

For a few women, though, using both One-Year and 90-Day PowerSheets might be the right solution: namely, if you want to set both in-depth professional and personal goals. If this sounds like you, we're offering a few tips today!

Why would you use two sets of PowerSheets?

The PowerSheets are designed to integrate your work and your life: they're flexible enough to hold everything that matters to you, from your career, to your family, to your wellness and leisure time.

However, they are constrained by one thing: space. There's only one Tending List each month. There's only so much room for brainstorming and breaking goals down. If you are someone who wants to use your PowerSheets to set, break down, and track granular goals in both your personal and professional life each month, using two separate sets of PowerSheets might be a perfect fit! For years, creative entrepreneurs and corporate-ladder gals alike have done just that with two sets of One-Year PowerSheets. With two sets, you can use one to focus solely on work, business, or career goals, and the other for the rest of life.

Who should choose one set of PowerSheets?

Answer: Most people! We'd be the last to try and convince you to buy two sets of PowerSheets, because for most people, that would simply be too much goal planning to juggle! If you're a first-time PowerSheets user, new to the Cultivate What Matters family, or have a project management program you love already in place at work, one set of PowerSheets will likely be just what you need.

Tips for using two sets of PowerSheets:

Okay—you've thought about, and you're ready to try two sets of PowerSheets in 2023: one personal, and one professional. Here are our best tips to get the most out of your goal planners!

  • Assign your planners carefully. Our recommendation is to use your 90-Day set for work and your One-Year set for personal goals, because most people prefer to have the more in-depth Prep Work for personal goals and more appointment space for work goals, but it's ultimately up to you!
  • Tweak the Cultivated Life Evaluation categories to suit your needs. For your work planner, you might consider tweaking the CLE categories—or at least how you interpret them—to better fit the workplace. For example, Finances might become Sales Goals. Health + Wellness might become Mental Health or Stress Management. Spiritual + Personal Growth might become Continuing Education. Family might become Mentorship. Don't be afraid to make it your own!
  • Skip around in the Prep Work. Yes, you heard us right (even though this is opposite the advice we usually give about Prep Work!). Normally, we encourage you to fill out every prompt, even if you don't think it will be impactful at first glance. You never know where you'll end up until you start writing! But since the One-Year and 90-Day Prep Work sections are very similar, you have our official permission to mix and match as needed in the name of efficiency, especially when you're doing a Quarterly Refresh.
  • Do your work PowerSheets at work and your personal at home. Again, to avoid overwhelm, we like the idea of filling out your work Prep Work and monthly tending pages at work, and your personal PowerSheets at home. Separating them in this way will help the process feel fresh twice over! Because your life informs your work and vice versa, though, we do recommend filling them out within the same week.
