7 Easy Breakfast Ideas from Team Cultivate

7 Easy Breakfast Ideas from Team Cultivate

As an outspoken Not Morning Person myself, I can always use a little help from my friends to get by in the early hours of the day. In that spirit, I asked a few members of Team Cultivate to share what they eat in the morning and how it connects to what matters to them. Because yes, even something as simple as what you eat for breakfast can matter in the big picture! It can fuel you for what's next, start you in a direction you want to continue for the rest of the day, or fold into a larger goal

Whether you consider yourself a morning person or not, we hope today's post gives you some inspiration for your own first meal of the day—and challenges you to consider how even small decisions can help you live out what matters!

Casey, Customer Delight Specialist and Podcast Host: I love this question because I often have two breakfasts! First, I'll make scrambled eggs with a secret ingredient: cottage cheese. (A 2:1 ratio of eggs to cheese.) I learned this from Madeline Moves and it really makes them so rich and fluffy but also low calorie and with a hefty amount of protein.

Then, I love a low-sugar oatmeal with two scoops of chocolate protein powder added in. It tastes like chocolate no-bake cookies! But it's filling and also provides a good amount of protein.

If I'm going to try to sustain my health and wellness goals over the long haul, the food I eat needs to bring me delight. I love breakfast and these two options do the trick for me!

Tori, Goal Content Writer: I blend frozen bananas and strawberries with water and vegan vanilla protein powder. If I'm in need of extra protein, I'll mix in an OWYN vegan protein shake! It's quick and easy to make, which gives me extra time for my morning workout and helps me refuel afterward.

Jennie, Marketing Director: I've never been a big breakfast person but have recently started having some blood sugar issues. Enter: the breakfast sandwich. I cook one egg over easy in a bit of avocado oil with spinach, white wine vinegar, and salt and pepper. I pile it all on top of a toasted English muffin.

In the cold winter months, preparing this breakfast helps me slow down and feels like a way to care for my body. It also gives me the energy to make it through the day without feeling like I need a nap!

Kellie, Brand Manager: Every morning I drink a matcha shake (a recommendation from Alli!). It's helped me give up caffeine and start my day off well nourished—and it makes me think of my friend!

Alli, Brand Specialist: My go-to breakfast these days is yogurt (cashew milk for my dairy-free needs) with a handful of dried oatmeal, some peanuts, and dried blueberries. I like having that first thing in the morning be a no-brainer, so I tend to stick with the same meal for months on end. It simplifies lots of parts of my life, like having one less decision to make in the morning and meal planning/grocery shopping!

Emily, Content Strategist: For the last year or so I ate an RX Bar for breakfast every morning, which honestly do a bang-up job of filling me up (even as they attempt to glue my jaw shut). But recently I've been having a slice of Dave's Killer Bread (21 Whole Grains version), toasted, with a thin layer of peanut butter and a banana sliced on top. Like many of my pals here, I actually like that this breakfast forces me to get up a little earlier, slow down, and sit down to eat with my kids. A win all around!

We'd love to hear: what do you eat for breakfast, and why does it matter to you? Let us know in the comments!
