Goal Setting Tip Number Two

Goal Setting Tip Number Two

How often do you start the day feeling overwhelmed by all that’s swirling around in your brain? From the dry-cleaning drop-off to worrying about an upcoming work assignment to the birthday cards you have to mail this weekend, it’s easy to get distracted from the one thing you are supposed to be working on! Guess what! You don’t have to feel that way! We’ve found it can be helpful to clear the mental clutter so you can find clarity, creativity, and focus.

We believe in this so much that we incorporated this page into 2017 PowerSheets! At the beginning of your Monthly PowerSheets Prep, there is a space for you to write out all the worries, fears, stresses, and to do’s that are taking up your mental and heart space! But here’s the thing, you don’t need PowerSheets to incorporate this into your daily or weekly routine!

If you want to incorporate this into a more regular workflow, our best advice is to find a system that works best for you! One of our editors, Emily, keeps a running To-Do list open on her computer where she writes down all the things on my mind if they are distracting her. I’m personally a big fan of a pen and paper list.

Wherever you decide to capture these thoughts, it’s important to go through the list and prioritize the important ones and schedule out others that aren’t as time-sensitive. Maybe you take a few minutes on Sunday evenings before beginning your work week to download all your thoughts and to do’s, and schedule them in your planner! Or maybe you do it every single day! Whatever you decide to do, find a system that makes it easier for you to focus on cultivating what matters most to you!
