In 2015 (almost 10 years ago!), we made up a holiday.
That's the kind of thing you can do when you start a company, I suppose, but this holiday wasn't (and isn't) about us: it's about you. And wow, how cool has it been to see it grow over the last many years! Cultivator's Appreciation Day started as an opportunity for our team to express gratitude for our customers (because you are the BEST!), but we've been tickled to see you turn around and use it as an opportunity to express gratitude and spread joy in your own lives, leading to one of those ripple effects we love so much.
Over the years, we've celebrated Cultivator's Appreciation Day in all sorts of fun ways (anyone remember the cross-country scavenger hunt for Cultivate goodie boxes?!), but TBQH the celebration has been a bit muted in recent years. This year, however, we're grateful and excited to celebrate again in a big way.
Here's what we have planned!
- THANK YOU NOTES GALORE | You know we love a thoughtful note. Today, every member of Team Cultivate is taking a few minutes to write 10 thank you notes to randomly-selected customers. Our customers are everything as a small business, and it's a joy to acknowledge that in a small way!
- HONORING THE ORIGINAL CULTIVATOR | We've put together a fun box of goodies and have shipped it off to the lady without whom none of this would be possible—the one and only Lara Casey! We are grateful for her today and every day.
- A REFRESH JOURNAL FOR YOU! AND YOU! | We're randomly choosing 15 customers who've placed an order in the last six months and sending them a Refresh | Brain Dump Journal! This new tool has already worked its way into so many of your hearts (and ours!); we love the idea of spreading even more clarity and action on this happy holiday.
- TREATS FOR SOME HEROIC CULTIVATORS | Our team has a soft spot for firefighters—Lauren and Alli are each married to one! In honor of all who protect and serve so that the rest of us are free to live out what matters, we're delivering treats to fire stations in NC and TX this morning.
