Introducing This Is HIS Year: A Faith Workbook

Introducing This Is HIS Year: A Faith Workbook

At Cultivate What Matters, we're grateful to be a home where all women—of any faith background or no faith background—can feel welcome and encouraged to set meaningful goals. Our team mission is to see every woman living on purpose, knowing that as she does, a ripple effect of transformation grows around her. What an incredible thought!

We're also grateful to offer resources specifically for Christians who are seeking to glorify God with their goals. Lara Casey, our founder, created Cultivate over a decade ago in response to the fresh start that only God could have orchestrated in her life. In the name of paying it forward, it's been our honor to extend that fresh start to others seeking God for the first time or looking to deepen their existing faith.

Over the years, we've offered some specific faith-based tools (Write the Word® journals!) and resources (any long-time Cultivators remember our God + Goals YouVersion Bible reading plan?!), but the requests and keep-you-up-at-night questions have kept coming:

  • I’m not sure if God cares about my goals.
  • I’m overwhelmed by all the good things I want to do next year—how to choose?
  • I want to follow God’s will in my goal setting, but am scared to “get it wrong.”
  • I want to invite God into my goal setting.
  • I’m afraid to set Biblical goals, goals that really matter, because what if I fail?
  • I’m not sure if setting goals is Biblical.
  • I don’t know how to set goals as a Christian.
  • I want to live out my faith in a practical way, but it feels complicated.
  • I want to honor and glorify God with my goals but I don’t know how.

Ever wondered about any of these things? You're in good company—and we think you'll love our brand-new faith workbook: This Is HIS Year.

This Is HIS Year Faith Workbook

What is This Is HIS Year?

This is HIS Year: A Grace-Filled Guide to Setting God-Centered Goals is a 75-page faith workbook that will help you:

  • Understand what matters (and what doesn’t!) in the big picture about goal setting and how we should use our time in light of our faith
  • Choose your best goals for the year ahead with a Biblical framework
  • Explore ways to glorify God through your goals
  • Integrate the spiritual disciplines and your unique resources into your goals
  • Untangle some of the trickiest questions around grace-filled goals, like what to do when your good goals go unmet and when to quit your goals

Co-written by our own Emily Thomas and Kristyn Perez, a staff writer at our sister company The Daily Grace Co., this first-of-its-kind resource will help you think about New Year’s goals in a Biblical and Gospel-centered way. If you want your faith to inform the goals you set and how you live them out (whether you’re a seasoned goal setter or new to breaking down what matters), this workbook is for you!

Does This Is HIS Year replace PowerSheets?

It does not! This Is HIS Year is a faith workbook designed to be used alongside your PowerSheets® or Fresh Start™ goal planner, much like the Habits Workbook or the Routines Workbook. This is HIS Year will help you uncover goals that glorify God but does not include space to track, plan, or reflect on goal progress over the course of a year.

When should I complete this faith workbook?

Great question! We recommend completing your faith workbook as you work through your PowerSheets Prep Work and in the early stages of living out your goals (December, January, and February), but it can be used at any time!

Will I love this faith workbook?!

Hey there, friend! We see you in your desire to steward what you've been given well, to love your neighbor and take care of yourself, and to glorify God with all that you have in your time on this broken and beautiful Earth. We commend you and are grateful to walk alongside you.

As Christians, we’re invited to do everything for the glory of God, working alongside Him to build the Kingdom as we go about our days. Nothing is outside His interest or influence—including whether or not we set goals, and what those goals are.

But goal setting can feel complicated and confusing for Christians! How does the Gospel inform our goals? How can we glorify God with our goals in very practical ways? How do we balance working heartily for God with resting in Christ—and the gift of grace? Do all of our goals have to be “faith-based”?

If you are tired of chasing goals that don’t matter and long to walk in step with God, setting and completing goals that lead to a faithful and fruitful life—we think you might love this workbook.

P.S. While this is a new resource, we're grateful to have gotten glowing feedback from this community on our other workbooks. A little peek:

I LOVE the Routines Workbook. I have used it for several months and it has literally changed my life. It is intentionally and thoughtfully laid out, helping you understand why routines you have tried to establish in the past may not have worked. It encourages you to not overhaul everything at once, but to start small and build on your routines over time. The book itself is well made, with good paper and binding and lots of space to write. This is the perfect tool for anyone looking to set routines in their life!  Diana

I waited before ordering the Routines Workbook because I couldn’t wrap my head around how it would help beyond my PowerSheets. I am so thankful I finally got it and am excited to implement new rhythms and routines! The workbook walks you through discovering what routines would be helpful and how to implement them. I can't wait to get started.  Mary

I love the Routines Workbook because it helps me think bigger picture. It is a beautiful, durable book with a balance of training, learning exercises, and worksheets. It also provides sample routines for a variety of individuals just to get you started. Love it!  Kim

I'm in! How do I buy This Is HIS Year?
