One of the best parts of the PowerSheets community is getting to know other women: sharing our stories, celebrating our progress, and encouraging each other in our struggles. And nowhere is that more true than at the Making Things Happen Conference!
Making Things Happen is primarily about you, your process, and your story. We encourage each attendee to bravely step into the unknown, and walk through the process with open hands. The best part? The attendees don’t do it alone. Lara Casey, our Founder, is there to walk them through each step of the process!
Alongside Lara, we have an encouragement team of eight other women who come alongside our attendees, sharing a little bit more of their own stories and encouraging then in break-out groups as they dig deeper together.
We’re excited to introduce our March 2018 Encouragers and hear more of why they’re excited about Making Things Happen and what advice they have for our future attendees!
Lara Casey
What She’s Most Excited for: “Making things happen means knowing that you don’t have to do it all, be it all, or have it all. MTH is about focusing on what MATTERS–on growing what lasts longer than you. Each time I lead this conference, I do the work alongside the attendees. And every time I’m changed, refreshed, and readied with a new action plan in hand.”
Her Encouragement for Attendees: “Remember that making a mess doesn’t mean you become one. At MTH, we uncover what matters to us, and do something about it. The best things in life grow little by little, and MTH is the start of that.”
Amber Housley
What She’s Most Excited for: “I am most looking forward to embracing a new season! There are always new ideas and opportunities that are uncovered at MTH, and I love that the spring season is going to be such a timely season to implement them alongside new friends!“
Her Encouragement for Attendees: “Come just as you are. Whether you’re feeling good in your current season or whether you feel like everything is a mess, you are welcome here! Get ready for two days of solid time focused on you and dozens of new friends who will be cheering you on long after we leave the MTH doors!“
Emily Ley
What She’s Most Excited for: “Seeing all my FRIENDS!!!!!! Hugging KNW’s babies. Some good quiet time to think.“
Her Encouragement for Attendees: “Be ready to let the unexpected bubble up. Many times I’ve attended MTH with one topic on my mind and left feeling so convicted about another. Being open to let the experience lead you is key!“
Gina Zeidler
What She’s Most Excited for: “Solid time to DIG DEEP in a room of like-minded humans! Plus encourage others ON!“
Her Encouragement for Attendees: “Come as you are, even if you feel like you don’t quite get what you are coming for or are nervous! We are so excited to LOVE on you through this experience, and I’m just overjoyed to see you!“
Katelyn James
What She’s Most Excited for: “I’m most looking forward to growing personally through MTH this year. I’m in such a different season than before. We have a surprise baby coming in five months and a one-year-old at home. So much of my business and my perspective on life has changed this past year, and I just have a feeling that MTH is going to be transformational in a new and exciting way this year!“
Her Encouragement for Attendees: “My encouragement is that CHANGE CAN HAPPEN. I remember feeling SO stuck in my business and in the hamster wheel that I was running on. I am SO thankful that I’m not the same business owner that I was 3-4 years ago. I’m thankful that I’m not the same wife that I was before. Your circumstances don’t define the reality of your future, no matter how STUCK you feel!“
LaShawn Henighan
What She’s Most Excited for: “I’m most looking forward to meeting and fellowshipping with women, just like me, who are really ready to dig deep into bringing what matters in their lives to life and taking it out into the world to shine!“
Nancy Ray
What She’s Most Excited for: “I’m most looking forward to looking at my entire life – my faith, my motherhood, my work, my relationships – everything – in a brand new light. I’m hungry for fresh perspective, I’m ready for a clean slate, and I know MTH does that for me every single time.“
Her Encouragement for Attendees: “Get rid of any expectations you might have. Lay them down. Allow your mind and body the space you need, and allow whatever needs to happen, happen. It’s always the best experience when I let go of my control and expectations and just allow the Lord to guide me through the process. And don’t worry – we will be doing the work right alongside you! Oh – one more thing: waterproof mascara!”
Rhiannon Bosse
What She’s Most Excited for: “After a challenging 2017 which allowed me to start 2018 with a renewed spirit and changed heart, I’m eager to dive into the hard work we do at Making Things Happen to see how it will again change my life in beautiful ways. Each and every time I return home from Raleigh, I am a new person with a zest for living my most purposeful life yet.“
Her Encouragement for Attendees: “Come prepared to get out of Making Things Happen what you put into it. Open your heart. Commit to doing the work. Keep expectations minimal. Know the best is yet to come if you let it.“
Shunta Grant
What She’s Most Excited for: “I am most looking forward to spending phone-free, intentional time among a group of hopeful women who know that there is strength in community and that we all have the ability to live lives that reflect what matters most to us!”
