Introducing Cultivate's Word of the Year!

Introducing Cultivate's Word of the Year!

Each December, our team works through a set of company PowerSheets® to help us navigate a new year. Every team member has a voice, answering each question and prompt, including offering suggestions for goals, starting steps, and ideas for our word of the year.

Our past company words of the year - like 2018's word, RISE - have gone on to shape our thoughts and actions for a full 12 months, so we take choosing one seriously! And once chosen, we don't just set our word and forget it - we remind each other of it during meetings, display it in our office, and consider it while doing each month's PowerSheets prep work. Judging by the chatter in our Facebook group, many of you feel the same way!

As we gathered around the table this year, we considered several options - clear and clarity were close contenders. In the end, though, we chose a word with a little sparkle: MAGIC.

In 2019, our focus is on weaving ourselves tightly together as a group of teammates and friends, amplifying each other's gifts and strengths so that we can turn outward with generosity, creativity, energy, and love. Equally importantly, we hope to do the same for you! Even though we're a small team, what we can accomplish when we're working together in harmony is a special brand of magic.

We've also all been greatly influenced by the call to "number our days," per Lara's most recent podcast episode, and for us, choosing MAGIC as our word of the year is a reminder to see each day we're given as precious and ripe for purpose. Every day is an opportunity to intentionally create a little magic for each other and for the people we love - very much including this community!

Your turn! Have you chosen your word of the year yet? If so, leave it in the comments and let us know! If not, what are you leaning towards? We want to hear from you!

P.S. Our designer Casey hand-lettered 90+ (!) words of the year for you - download your pick for free as a phone wallpaper or lock screen!
