How to Do PowerSheets with Friends (Or in a Group!)

How to Do PowerSheets with Friends (Or in a Group!)

One of our very best PowerSheets® tips is to find a buddy to keep you accountable in making little-by-little progress on your goals each month. We LOVE hearing from so many of you who've taken us up on this... and now have years of memories from moving forward side-by-side with a trusted friend!

For those looking to take their PowerSheets experience up a notch in 2021, today's post is all about how to have not just one accountability buddy, but several: with a PowerSheets group!

We've put together a free, comprehensive guide to organizing and hosting your own PowerSheets group. It includes answers to many of the questions you might have as you consider starting a group, how to find members for your group, conversation starters, encouragement ideas, an example meeting outline, and more! Enter your email below for a direct link - the guide will pop right up for you to read or download!

As a sneak peek, here are a few of the "getting started" prompts included in the guide:
  • Determine the size of your group. Depending on what type of group you have, you may want a smaller size to share personal or in-depth goals, or a larger size to share big-picture visions and group-driven goals. It doesn't have to be one or the other, either: a larger group can always break into smaller pods for accountability throughout the month.

  • Invite friends - both new and old! Use social media to your advantage! Join the PowerSheets Facebook group to see if there are PowerSheets users nearby. Forming a group is also a great opportunity to encourage real-life friends who many have been on the fence to get started. Knowing they'll have friends along the way is a great encouragement to dive in!

  • Choose a leader. She will be the point person for fielding questions, scheduling, and keeping the meetings on track - but she doesn't have to do everything! A group leader doesn't have to be the most expert person in the room (after all, everything you need is already in your PowerSheets!). A leader is simply agreeing to handle logistics and facilitate conversation. Depending on your group size, there may be other roles to assign out, too, to take the burden off one person.

  • Determine how you'll communicate. Will it be through a Facebook group, email chain, or text message thread? With technology, the options are limitless! Choosing a method of communication everyone already uses in their life will make planning much more seamless.

  • Decide what type of group you want. Is it professional, personal, or both? Do you want to be surrounded by people in similar life situations as yourself (for instance, working moms, entrepreneurs, students) or would you prefer to have a more diverse group? Remember, there are no wrong answers!

Finally, a note about community and the coronavirus: though we look forward to the day when meeting in person is the best option, don't wait for someday to cultivate community around your goals. Start now, even if it has to be on Zoom. A year from today, you'll be so glad you did!

We'd love to hear: Have you been a part of a PowerSheets group? Have we convinced you to start one? What other questions can we answer for you?

Psst: Haven't gotten your 2021 PowerSheets yet? Text a friend and go in together today! Now is the perfect time to get started on planning for an intentional and joyful year ahead.
