Congratulations! You did it! You are well on your way to living a productive and purposeful life.

Some parting thoughts: it’s good to go slow with implementation. Our natural inclination can be to toss everything out and try to immediately build a totally new schedule. But, the best way to make changes is little by little, through small tweaks, adding changes over time, noticing what’s working well—and adjusting things that aren’t working well.

You will likely need to make changes as you go. Your schedule will not be perfect immediately—or maybe ever. The definition of “cultivate” is this: to prepare, to use, to develop, to dig in, to break up. This is an action word—it takes work.

We’ll leave you with these wise words from the book Deep Work by Cal Newport: “The deep life, of course, is not for everybody. It requires hard work and drastic changes to your habits. For many, there’s a comfort in the artificial busyness of rapid email messaging and social media posturing, while the deep life demands that you leave much of that behind…. But if you’re willing to sidestep these comforts and fears, and instead struggle to deploy your mind to its fullest capacity to create things that matter, then you’ll discover, as others have before you, that depth generates a life rich with productivity and meaning.”

The purposeful and productive life is not for everyone, but it is rich and meaningful. It creates a ripple effect of good things for your life, and in the lives of those you love.
